Magga Dora RagnarsdottirSenior User Experience Designer at Mad*PowHow to get rid of those pesky usersChange of date:Thursday, December 11, 2014Mad*Pow, 179 Lincoln Street, Boston, MA 02111 |
Abstract
Your users pay your salary, but sometimes they just seem to not appreciate all your efforts, and the things they say about your apps make you want to wash their mouths out with soap. Why don’t they get that we are trying to help?
Bio
Magga Dora’s mantra is that the world can be made a better place, one experience at a time. She is happy to share her passion for technology to anyone who’s willing to listen – and even those who aren’t. We guess that’s why she’s frequently asked to speak about the topic at conferences and in the classroom.
Magga Dora hails from a tiny rock in the North Atlantic Ocean known as Iceland. There she worked for Iceland’s largest telecommunications company, Siminn, maintaining their self-service website and internal call center applications. Before that she worked for airline management systems provider, Calidris (which is now a part of Sabre Airline Solutions). She worked directly with a large customer base including, but not limited to, Finnair, Emirates and British Airways.
Since 2003, Magga Dora has taught the Graduate Human Factors course at the University of Iceland. That is also where she got her training, first earning her Bachelors in Psychology and then her Masters in Computer Science. She has been producing software and striving for UX perfection ever since.
When not evangelizing user experience she can be found curled up with a book, photographing wild animals in their natural habitat, hurtling down ski slopes or snuggling with her little family.
